An Update From Golisanso's Children's Hospital of SWFL

I wanted to give you an update that I hope you will share with your Vasari Cares Foundation Committee. We have been diligently working to be good stewards of your generous dollars for the benefit of our sweet patients. Your Vasari Cares Golf Tournament donation has been applied to three different initiatives based on our conversations, and I have included information about each one.

Little Red Wagon Fund-

We have been able to accomplish some amazing feats with your support to the Little Red Wagon Fund. As a testament to what we have been able to do, I wanted to share with you a heartfelt story of six-year-old Rylee who is benefitting from urodynamic testing at Golisano. This sweet girl is an inspiration to many, and her bright countenance lights up a room.

Urodynamic testing at Golisano Children’s Hospital has been made possible through the Little Red Wagon Fund.  Although it is a small snapshot of what we have been able to accomplish, for the family in the video, it means the world!

Safety Sam ATV Robot-

A portion of your gift has been applied to the Child Advocacy program, and we are in the midst of obtaining our very own “Safety Sam”. I have attached pictures of our custom model. This robot will go on the road to promote education and safety throughout the region (Charlotte, Hendry, Glades, Lee and Collier Counties). We hope to prevent ATV accidents and vehicle collisions with this important piece of equipment, and we are the first organization in the entire state of Florida to do something like this!

Barbara’s Friends (Pediatric Cancer Fund)-

Lastly, in our last conversation, you mentioned how you have a heart for oncology patients. We had a Clips for Cancer event last Friday where our pediatric cancer patients shaved the heads of city officials, doctors, hospital administrators and first responders for advocacy and support. I have included a few photos of the event, including Mayor Randall Henderson and a NICU nurse who donated her long hair to Wigs for Kids. There was not a dry eye in Golisano! It was a precious and poignant event. Some of your donation was applied to this wonderful cause.

As you consider gifts to charities in 2020, my hope is that you will continue to support the work we are doing for children in Southwest Florida through Golisano Children’s Hospital. We appreciate and utilize every gift that you give.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all you have done and continue to do!

With appreciation,

Melody
