Guidelines for Vasari Cares Foundation Grant Applications:

This describes the purpose of the Vasari Cares Foundation’s grant making program, eligibility criteria, and the procedures to follow in submitting a proposal. Please review these guidelines carefully and submit your proposal in the requested format.

 

About the Vasari Cares Foundation

The mission of the Vasari Cares Foundation is to provide support and assistance to selected charities that will impact the local community by mobilizing the power of Vasari volunteers and capitalizing on their generosity. Our vision is to make a difference for those in need in the Lee and Collier communities.

 

We support organizations that:

 

  • Address underlying social and economic challenges contributing to poor outcomes in the communities served, such as poverty, housing, and health care.

  • Identify and create strategies that positively impact our communities.

  • Demonstrate collaboration among sectors, including public health, local government, and education.

 

We give priority to organizations that:

 

  • Promote community resident participation and engagement.

  • Adhere to existing evidence-based best practices or promising practices.

  • Leverage additional funding as well as community assets.

  • Provide an established plan for evaluation including measurable outcomes.

  • Provide an opportunity for members of the Vasari community to actively volunteer.

 

Supportable Activity / Non-Supportable Activity

The Vasari Cares Foundation supports organizations that directly impact our communities in Lee or Collier counties.

Applicant organizations must meet the following criteria:

 

  • Nonprofit corporation with proof of 501©(3) tax-exempt status;

  • Demonstrated experience working with the targeted populations; and

  • Strong board involvement and competent leadership

The Foundation cannot consider grants to individuals and generally will not consider grants for:

  • Religious purposes

  • Political purposes

  • Lobbying

  • Capital building projects

  • Endowment funds

  • Debt reduction

  • Foreign operations or expenditures

  • National fundraising campaigns or mass mailing campaigns

  • Membership in civic organizations or trade associations

  • Fraternal societies

 

The Grant Review Process

Application Procedures

 

Please submit an application containing all of the items specified below, including all requested attachments.

The Foundation will contact you if we have questions or require additional information. We will acknowledge your application within two weeks of its receipt. If we are interested in funding your proposal or organization, we will contact you to discuss your application.

Application Contents

 

Your application must include:

 

  • Cover letter, on your stationery, signed by your executive director

  • Grant objective and purpose including timetable for use of funds 

  • Amount requested

  • Executive Summary

  • Narrative (no more than two pages) that includes organization background (mission, major activities, and credentials for carrying out goals and objectives)

  • Attachments:

    • Verification of tax-exempt status (IRS Determination letter)

    • List of officers and Board of Directors

    • Key staff biographies

    • Current Annual Report

    • Support letters or endorsements (limit to maximum of five)
